Is Your School Safe?

The only thing I feared when going to school was getting detention for forging absence notes. Now it's become a life threatening event to step foot in a school.

Will I or will not come out alive today? Going postal, with an Uzi, in a classroom seems to be all the rage now. Poor kid got a C and has to kill the teacher. The nerds are tired of people making fun of them, so they're just going to take out the whole school. The quarterback and the cheerleader can't handle the pressure of being so damn popular, so they commit murder/suicide. Peer pressure has gotten so tough for our spoiled little American brats. Kids are even bold enough to warn their friends that they are in a bad mood and will be shooting up the school the next day. Oh, wow, that sounds fun. I'll make sure not to ditch tomorrow...gotta see some heads roll! Cool!! I hope the parents wrote those famous last words on the kids head stone.

Where are the parents of these students? How do you not notice that your kid is depressed or has an arsenal in his room. How is that your kid had access to weapons in the first place? These parents should practice a few parenting skills and pay more attention to their kids. . Don't have kids if you don't have the time to spend with them. These kids don't go nuts because they didn't pass a test or were made fun of by their peers. They kill because they need attention. Something they should be getting at home. How long do you think a parent can ignore their child before rebellion kicks in? Get your ass home, spend time with your kid, give them support and make sure they don't turn into the next Charles Manson.

If you're not concerned with violence in your school, then why not worry about one of the staff molesting your kid? Oh, don't worry, it won't be the janitor, it will be the big role models, like a teacher or even the principal. This week a principal had such a crush on an 11 year old that he decided to run off to Las Vegas with her. Noooo...that's not improper at all. Don't for a second think that a parochial school is any safer. That principal worked for a Baptist school. And let's not forget the married teacher that had two kids with a 13 year old. She now gets to raise her kids from behind bars and she's still in love with the kid who got her pregnant. Did these people attend four years of college to learn how to teach kids or molest them? Welcome to Sex with Minors 101.

Private schools are no better. Administrators and teachers verbally and physically abuse the kids. Private schools take advantage of a parents wallet and think they are above the law since they can make their own rules. Parents think they are paying for a better education and a safer environment. I have personally been through hell and back with a private school and my kids suffered because of it. When does the abuse stop?
Thousands of great teachers get a bad reputation because of a handful of screw ups. Kids are afraid to go to school for fear of being killed. Parents shouldn't have to worry about dropping their kids off and wondering if that's the last time they will see them. It's a shame that our children have to be more concerned with their safety than getting a good education.

Who's to blame? I blame the parents for not paying attention their kids and their needs. I blame the teachers and administrators for taking advantage of their positions and abusing the children that they are being paid to be responsible for. This country has too much freedom and not enough enforced rules.
